A MENTAL health patient who was pulled from Cotton Lake in Dartford yesterday morning has died.

The 34-year-old Dartford man, who was a voluntary patient at Littlebrook Hospital, was rushed to Kings College Hospital in London by ambulance where he later died.

Kent Police officers were called to Galleon Boulevard, in Crossways Business Park, shortly after 10am to reports of concern for a man swimming in the lake.

A boat was sent to rescue the man from the freezing water before he was taken back to shore and paramedics attempted to resuscitate him in the car park of The Wharf pub.

A Kent Police spokeswoman says the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
