Bromley police make 30 arrests in Operation Big Wing raids

THIRTY people were arrested and nine uninsured vehicles seized in Bromley yesterday (February 27) during Operation Big Wing.

The arrests were for theft, motor vehicle crime, robbery, domestic violence, assault, harassment, drugs, handling stolen goods, absconding from prison, immigration offences, weapon offences, criminal damage, driving whilst disqualified and breach of ASBO.

The operation was so successful that Bromley police station's custody suite was full at one stage in the day.

Drugs, stolen goods and a stolen motor vehicle have been recovered during the raids and officers arrested a man on suspicion of absconding from prison after he was found hiding in a loft at a house in Beckenham.

Officers also raided a cannabis factory and seized 80 plants.

The operation was a day of visible, coordinated activity across London, designed to cut crime and stop those who cause most harm to the community.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Furphy, from Bromley Police, said: "Operation Big Wing is both reinforcing what we do on daily basis in targeting criminals head-on and providing further public reassurance through visible high impact policing.

“Yesterday we arrested more than 30 suspected criminals, people who have been a blight on their local communities.

“A number of those offenders have been arrested as a result of intelligence and information provided by members of the public, acting as our eyes and ears and I ask residents continue to provide information about crime and criminals in your area.

“If you know something please don’t hesitate.

"Tell us, we will listen and we will take action.

“Big Wing has been the largest operation undertaken across Bromley this year, providing reassurance to our communities and making them feel safe where they live and work.”

Maybe I was wrong to be so negative about this operation when it was reported yesterday. Credit where it's due, it looks like Bromley police have done some good work here.

Speaking of blight, has anyone noticed the mess that is being caused by our government?

Scab and Blackleg are minor problems compared to that.

Yep.

So the police do what they are paid to do. The Royal Mail are paid to deliver mail, am I supposed to cheer the RM when my mail is deleivered?

Hey I'm certainly not an angel, but I pay my that poxy stuff every month about £130 and I would really like the police, and the ambulance to help my 92 year old mother, and another person who needs help! Unfortunately, in the past they have been too strapped with poxy little **** who have been stabbing each other to death
