BROMLEY College is celebrating after getting its best Ofsted inspection results for more than a decade.

The inspectors rated it as good overall and found some aspects of teaching were outstanding.

This outstanding work included the standard of assessment in its engineering and motor vehicle learning programmes, which are taught by ‘highly motivated and skilled teachers’.

College principal Sam Parrett said: “We are so pleased that the hard work of students and staff has been recognised in this way.

“Merger with Orpington College only happened 18 months ago but we have improved our students pass rates and given students so much more than when we were two separate colleges.

“This places us amongst the highest performing colleges in the country.”

Most of the subject areas were graded as good but Ofsted says science, mathematics and statistics, business studies and law and legal services, all require improvement.
