THREE specialists will speak about human trafficking and healthy relationships at a conference in Gravesend.

Readers are invited to Northfleet School for Girls, where the conference is being hosted by the Gravesend and District Soroptimist Club, on March 9.

Among speakers is former detective superintendent Cliff Grieve, who is chairman of the Kent Community Against Trafficking.

Deborah Jordan, who delivers the Healthy Relationships (Loves Me, Loves Me Not) programme to young people, will also be speaking.

Club president Valerie Boswell said: “This is an opportunity for people to learn what can be done to combat people trafficking, which sadly is on the increase. “Similarly, recent research has identified that teenagers experience as much relationship abuse as adults.

“Indeed independent studies have shown that 40% of teenagers are in abusive dating relationships.”

The conference runs from 9am to 1pm.
