A BLAZE at a chicken shop in Lewisham High Street this morning is now under control.
Three fire engines attended the scene after crews were called at 11.22am and the flames were under control by 12.06pm.
A man and a woman escaped from flats above the shop and were treated for smoke inhalation by staff from the London Ambulance Service.
Part of the shop was damaged in the fire with the ventilation system most affected.
Crews from Forest Hill and Lee Green stations attended and the cause of the fire is now under investigation.
