TWO skiers, who honed their skills on the slope at St Paul’s Cray, have won gold at the 2013 World Winter Games Special Olympics.
Wayne McCarthy and Jane Andrews, both of Bromley, scored victory in South Korea earlier this month. Mr McCarthy won a gold and a silver medal and Ms Andrews won two golds.
They are both members of Special Olympics South East Ski Team which trains at the Bromley Ski Centre in Sandy Lane, St Paul’s Cray.
They flew out as part of the 2013 Winter Games Special Olympics GB Team which took place between January 28 and February 5 and won gold in the alpine competition.
More than 100 nations participated in the event in South Korea, with 2,800 athletes with intellectual disabilities taking part.
