A BECKENHAM accountancy practice has won a prestigious award from a global body that regulates thousands of accountants worldwide.

To win the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Quality Checked award, SSJ Accountants, which specialises in helping small businesses, had to demonstrate 'best practice' in all aspects of its business.

Peter Large, Executive Director of Governance at ACCA said: "The award of ACCA Quality Checked is one way of assuring businesses and the public that they can have confidence in the services offered by accountancy firms.

"The standards we set are high and it is a major achievement for SSJ Accountants to secure this award, which reflects well on the calibre of staff and the services it offers to its clients."

Sharif Uddin, 40, Director of SSJ Accountants, who himself grew up in the area, said: "We really are delighted to have received this award and recognition from our professional regulatory body and I want as many local people as possible to share and benefit from my passion for excellent customer service."
