POLICE have released pictures of the five men most wanted in Lewisham in connection with burglaries.

It follows a spike in break-ins in the borough with a sharp increase from around 40 per week to up to 70 per week since November last year.

A special policing team Operation Drummer has been set up to crack down on criminals, with 13 arrests made since the operation launched on January 21.

The team have targeted areas such as Telegraph Hill and Brockley - where there has been a recent spate of burglaries – with officers patrolling the streets in uniform and plain clothes.

Anyone with information about the men pictured should contact police on 101 quoting the suspect’s name or reference number.
