A DRUG offender has been convicted of intending to supply drugs in Bromley after his defence was described as "clearly ridiculous" by a judge.

Ismail Attah, 28, of Helix Road, Brixton Hill, was found guilty of two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

He pleaded not guilty throughout the trial, claiming he was showing a lady photographs of Ghana, not selling her drugs, but a jury to took just 50 minutes to dismiss this.

He was jailed for seven years at Croydon Crown Court on January 30.

Attah was arrested by Bromley police officers who observed a Vauxhall Zafira acting suspiciously in the car park of Waitrose in Beckenham in the early hours of February 25 2012.

As they approached the vehicle Attah ran off, but was detained after a footchase with a bag containing rocks of crack cocaine.

£2,200 cash was found in his vehicle, another £1,000 cash was found when Attah was searched, while further wraps of drugs were found along the route he tried to escape.

The lady, 27, from Bromley, was also arrested at the scene and received a police caution for possession of cocaine.
