A LEWISHAM pub has been shut down after police uncovered a cannabis factory above the bar.
The Holly Tree pub in Dermody Road, Lewisham, has had its licence suspended by the council after the raid on January 5.
Police say they uncovered 100 mature cannabis plants ready for harvest along with hydroponic and lighting equipment which enables marijuana plants to be grown rapidly in controlled conditions.
Four men who were inside the boozer have been arrrested and are helping police with the enquiries.
A full review of the pub's licence will be held at Lewisham Council on February 26.
A spokesman for Lewisham police said: "Lewisham’s licensed premises must operate within their stated times and conditions.
"We rely on information from the community as well as our own intelligence led operations and patrols.
"If any member of the public has information regarding a licensed premises which they think requires police attention, then do not hesitate to contact Sgt Jim Abbott at Lewisham Police station or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
