Gravesend stunner Mellisa Clarke wins Page 3 competition

Mellisa Clarke. Mellisa Clarke.

From serving bacon baps in McDonald's to posing topless in the newspaper - Gravesend stunner Mellisa Clarke now has one of the breast opportunities of her life ahead. Reporter ALAN WOODS finds out more.

THIS former North West Kent College schoolgirl has been crowned winner of The Sun’s Page 3 idol, beating thousands of wannabe models to the title.

Mellisa has her friend to thank for the titillating opportunity lying ahead, after she entered the 21-year-old into the talent contest without her knowledge.

Having scooped the £5,000 jackpot and a contract to appear on the legendary page of the newspaper twice a month, Mellisa will jet off next week to Barbados for a luxury photoshoot.

The 23-year-old, who previously worked in McDonald's and supermarkets such as The Co-Op and Iceland, told News Shopper how winning never crossed her mind.

Having reached the final three, she expected to be nipped at the post and end up with the booby prize.

Boasting a slim 32C figure, Mellisa said: "I’m not the typical kind of Page 3 girl with big boobs and fake tan.

"But it’s nice to break the mould - I think people are bored of the same old stuff."

Single Mellisa, who cites singer Katy Perry and burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese as her idols, started modelling two years ago.

Despite appearing in men’s magazines such as Front and Nuts, she never expected to land an opportunity as big as this.

She said: "My mum and dad love it and my friends have been really good about it.

"A few girls have been a bit sour but other than that, everyone has been very supportive.

"I think a girl who does this has got to be prepared for good and bad but for every bad comment you will get 100 nice ones."

Mellisa follows in the footsteps of Bromley glamour model Keeley Hazell, who launched her successful career after winning Page 3 Idol in 2004.

Looking to the future Mellisa said: "I’m just going to take every opportunity I have.

"I’m going to try and network and make something of it while I can.

"Not every girl gets this opportunity so might as well make the best of it."

Mellisa is pictured in The Sun on page three today.
