WARMER wetter weather is on its way as the area’s big freeze looks to be coming to an end.

Today will start off cold with frost and ice and there may be occasional light sleet or snow at times but it will become drier later.

The maximum temperature will be 3C.

It will be cold overnight with temperatures falling below freezing, giving some icy surfaces, with a minimum temperature of -4C.

Tomorrow (January 24) an early frost is likely with icy patches but it will be mainly dry during the day with some bright or sunny spells.

The maximum temperature is 3C.

By Sunday heavy rain is expected with the temperature set to rise to around 9C.
