CRAY Wanderers earned a welcome point at Hastings United after the pitch at the Pilot Field passed a 3pm inspection on Tuesday.

Cray's last three goals have all been scored by Leigh Bremner from the penalty spot - the latest of them coming in the 44th minute to give the Wands a half-time lead at Hastings.

Michael Power had been tripped by Hastings defender Ben Judge, and Bremner netted the penalty.

Cray had dominated the game in large part, forcing several saves from the home keeper.

The second half continued with Cray in the ascendancy, but with the wind and a blizzard snow shower in their favour Hastings got more into the game and equalised on 80 minutes when Bradley Goldberg set up Zac Attwood to score.

There was time for the Hastings keeper and for Cray keeper Andy Walker to make late saves before the Wands settled for a point, to break their losing run since the start of January.

Cray travel next to Lowestoft Town on Saturday (3pm) where a pitch inspection may be necessary after heavy lying snow in East Anglia.

After that Cray are at home to Wingate & Finchley next Tuesday (7.45pm).

Cray team at Hastings: Walker, Parkinson, Pooley, Estrada, Willy, Sterling, Power, Saunders, Bremner, Phillips, Fray. Subs: Day, Stavrinou, Fasunan, Hall.
