THIS month sees the one year anniversary of Bromley and Bexley’s shared library services.
The merger took place in January 2011 and involved the streamlining of back office function with number of redundancies in a bid to save £350,000.
here were over 2m visits to Bromley libraries last year, up three per cent up on the year before.
Leader of Bromley Council Councillor Stephen Carr said at the time of the merger: "Shared services give us the opportunity to make necessary savings during this unprecedented time of financial constraints, while continuing to provide efficient services to residents.
“We are utilising skills and knowledge from services in Bromley and Bexley to benefit both authorities.”
