A PRIMARY school which aims to cater for nearly 1,000 children across two sites has opened its new £2.2m campus in Woolwich.
Heronsgate, which already has a site in Whinchat Road, Thamesmead, now offers eight classrooms, along with early years accommodation, a kitchen and technology room at Burrage Grove.
Currently catering for 100 pupils, the new facility will increase by one class each year.
At the official opening, pupils performed a rendition of Coldplay hit The Scientist, and school council members led guided tours.
Headteacher Nicholas Prockter said: "It has been an exciting venture expanding to an additional site. The real challenge has been maintaining our high standards across the two campuses which we feel we have been successful in doing.
"In fact, having the two sites has increased our staff capacity and expertise and ensured even higher standards in both our schools."
