When I was asked to review the same facial Madonna treats herself to, I jumped at the chance.

The Material Girl relies upon Caci – the best non-surgical face lift treatment around – to keep her looking fresh and in vogue.

And despite not having many wrinkles yet, at the age of 27 my face no longer has the youthful glow, elasticity and tone it had 10 years ago.

So, I was thrilled to visit Options Beauty in West Wickham to give Caci a whirl.

This popular solution improves muscle tone, lifts and refines facial features over a course of 10 initial sessions, with clients returning for maintenance treatments every four to six weeks.

Georgina McDonagh, my lovely therapist, explained Caci (which works by applying micro-current electrical impulses to muscles) was originally developed as a medical treatment for facial palsy and stroke sufferers.

Now used as a painless cosmetic solution, Hollywood stars are falling over themselves to try it – Madge even has her own machine at home.

At Options, they have invested in the Ultimate Caci machine which can be used to treat a multitude of skin sins including lines, eye bags and even acne.

I have never been for a facial before, mainly because I’ve always been too embarrassed of my eternally spotty skin, but Georgina made me feel completely comfortable, chatting about her own acne nightmares of days gone by.

Relaxing music and soft lighting added to the soothing environment in Options’ private treatment room and, not knowing what to expect from Caci, I was surprised by the electric sensation.

During the one-hour session, Georgina gently manipulated all 32 facial muscles, sending tiny electrical currents through them.

Although painless, the feeling of pins and needles, an odd metallic taste in my mouth and a very slight electric shock sensation accompanied the careful prods from the Caci wand – but it’s all worth it.

Even after just one treatment, I could definitely see the difference.

And on January 22 and January 23, you can get 50 per cent off the revolutionary treatment.

A course of 10 sessions, which usually cost £400, will be available for £200.
