Bexley consultation on planned Community Infrastructure Levy to start January 18
1:39pm Friday 11th January 2013 in News By Tim MacFarlan, Bexley and north Kent reporter
BEXLEY residents are being asked to comment on new plans to help raise money for infrastructure.
The proposed Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a system of planning charges levied on developers to help pay for infrastructure relating to new development.
This can include transport and environmental improvements, community, health and education facilities, open spaces and local flood defences.
Introduced by the government in 2010, Bexley Council has now published its proposed rates for CIL charges in the borough.
The plans aim to make new development sustainable by replacing Section 106 planning obligations.
The consultation runs from Friday, January 18 to Friday, March 1 closing at 5pm.
Copies of the charging schedule will be available for public inspection from 9am to 5pm at the Contact Centre in Bexley Civic Offices and at the borough’s libraries.
From January 18 visit bexley.gov.uk/pdcs to see a copy and comment via e-mail at spandtteam@bexley.gov.uk (including ‘PDCS consultation’ in the subject line).
You can also write to CIL PDCS, London Borough of Bexley, Strategic Planning and Transportation, Room 36, Hill View Offices, Hill View Drive, Welling, DA16 3RY.
