Penge Sainsbury's has Christmas card recycling bin

AS CHRISTMAS is slowly becoming a distant memory supermarket shoppers in Penge can help the environment by dropping off their cards in store.

Sainsbury’s in the High Street has a Christmas card recycling bin at the car park entrance to the shop until January 15.

The supermarket will be making a donation to the Forest Stewardship Council based on the volume of cards collected.

Store manager Nick Barnes said: “We know that our customers care about the environment and reducing their impact on landfill so we’re providing really simple and hassle-free ways for them to live more sustainably and recycle their Christmas-waste once the holidays are over.”
