Cars in Istead Rise targeted by vandals
A GRAVESEND village has been hit by another wave of car vandalism.
Three cars in Istead Rise had their windows smashed on December 26 and 27 in the latest in a spate of similar attacks.
In November up to 30 vehicles were targeted in one day by drive-by catapult-wielding vandals.
During the attacks, objects including ball bearings and stones were fired from moving vehicles at targets including parked cars and homes.
That came just two weeks after police received reports of 13 windows being smashed in the Greenhithe and South Darenth areas in just 24 hours.
On Boxing Day officers were called to Downs Road, Istead Rise, to reports the rear windscreen of a Vauxhall Corsa had been smashed with a brick between 10pm on Christmas Day and 8.40am the following day.
Later, officers were called to a different house on the same street to reports the rear passenger side window had been broken at some point between the previous afternoon and 10.30am.
Officers also attended a house in Lewis Road at 12.16pm on December 27 after reports a rear driver's side window of a VW Transporter Combi had been damaged at some point after 7pm the previous evening.
