CHRISTMAS waste from cards to turkey foil can be recycled at a Greenwich superstore this new year.
Shoppers can help tackle land-fill pile-ups by taking their used Christmas cards to Sainsbury’s in Bugsby Way until January 15.
There will be a recycling bin in the entrance foyer and the supermarket giant will donate to the Forest Stewardship Council based on the number of cards collected.
Festive wrapping paper, cardboard, aluminium products, clothing, glass and plastic can also be recycled at the store.
Sainsbury’s store manager David Perks said: "We know that our customers care about the environment and reducing their impact on landfill so we’re providing really simple and hassle-free ways for them to live more sustainably and recycle their Christmas waste once the holidays are over."
