Cray Wanderers won the Kent holiday derby fixture at Margate on Boxing Day when Leigh Bremner's 19th-minute goal secured a 1-0 win at a wet and windy Hartsdown Park.
Top-of-the-table Margate went into the game on an eight-game unbeaten run, but mid-table Cray deservedly took their early lead after looking the better side in the early stages.
In tough conditions there were no further goals, with Cray 'keeper Andy Walker making some good saves in front of a crowd of 408.
Cray: Walker, Burgess, Sterling, Saunders, Willy, J Vines, P Vines, Stavrinou, Bremner, Phillips, Clark.
Cray travel to Harrow Borough on Saturday (3pm) and are home to Concord Rangers on Wednesday 2 January (7.45pm).
