THERE are reports of a car stuck in a flooded road after a water main burst in Orpington.
It is thought the water main broke on Station Road at the junction with Tubbenden Lane at around 5.30am this morning (Dec 20).
Peter Lohr, of Maxwell Gardens, said: “I’ve never seen anything like it in the 50 years I’ve lived round here.
“There was a car stuck in the middle of the road with all this water around it and the people just had to get out of it in the end.”
Samantha Parry tweeted: “Volvo gets stuck attempting to get through very large puddle under Tubbenden Lane Bridge #flood #awkward.”
The road surface is in poor condition due to the flooding and so caution is advised when driving around this area.
Station Road was closed last night after a car crash in which a 30-year-old woman suffered minor injuries.
