TWO rising political stars have been debating young people’s issues in the House of Commons.

Laila Khan, 15, and Jordan Fenlon-Philips, 18, represented Bromley among 300 nationally elected youngsters to determine the UK Youth Parliament’s priority campaign for next year.

At the end of the session on November 23, which was chaired by House of Commons Speaker John Bercow, members voted on A Curriculum to Prepare us for Life as their 2013 national campaign.

Laila Khan, who attends Bullers Wood School, in St Nicolas Lane, Chislehurst, said: "I really enjoyed the whole experience of being able to debate in the House of Commons.

"I felt like I was really being listened to by other members of the Youth Parliament and was able to put views across from young people in my borough."

Jordon studied at Ravensbourne School, in Hayes Lane, Bromley, until summer this year and is now studying for an pprenticeship in Holborn.
