THE victims of a crash in Bickley involving four cars have escaped without serious injury.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Blackbrook Lane, near Springfield Gardens, at 3.55pm yesterday afternoon (Dec 12).

The four vehicles involved were a Nissan Qashqai, Ford Focus, BMW and Vauxhall Astra however the cause of the accident has not yet been identified.

Two ambulances and two paramedic cars were sent to the crash along with two police cars and a fire engine. Part of Blackbrook Lane was cordoned off until the evening.

However no one was seriously hurt. One 37-year-old man received a bump to his head, another 46-year-old man sustained minor injuries and a 37-year-old woman suffered whiplash.

Blackbrook Lane resident Dolly Virdee,49, who lives opposite where the accident happened, said: “I’ve never seen anything like that in all the 14 years I’ve lived here.”

“I didn’t know anything about it as I was inside but then I saw the flashing lights of the emergency services and the whole road was cordoned off.

“I went to check what was going on and I asked police if anyone was hurt but they said no one was seriously injured. I hope they are ok.”
