HOMELESS men were helped by Penge and Cator safer neighbourhood team as the temperature dropped to -3C.
Officers sought out rough sleepers on December 11 in the freezing conditions together with charity scheme London Street Rescue and a Safer Bromley Partnership representative.
Three homeless Polish men were found in Penge and a translator talked to them so they could be taken to safe premises for a night and offered support, outreach and health checks as well as a hot meal and drinks.
Sergeant Rob Goodwin, who helped find the men, said: "People sleeping rough are very vulnerable and this sort of joint initiative can save lives".
The team will continue to monitor the situation and London Street Rescue have already offered their support to revisit the area in future if more rough sleepers are found.
