A MAN was taken to hospital after a catapult was used to shoot a driver in the eye.
The victim was driving in Shellbank Lane in Bean between 9am and 10am on November 15 when he was passed by a white Ford transit van driving suspiciously.
As he stopped and leant out his window, the white transit van also pulled up at the side of the road.
It is alleged someone jumped out the van, crouched down and fired an object at him from a catapult.
The victim of the attack was taken to Moorfields Eye Hospital in London but has since been discharged.
North division’s Detective Constable Eleanor Hughes said: “I’m seeking anyone with information that may identify the suspect, or who was in the area at the time, particularly if they saw a white Ford Transit van.”
