Bexley Archaeological Group is one of the first organisations to bag a new lottery grant.

The organisation was given £7,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund All Our Stories grant.

It will fund five workshops and other sessions, helping up to 100 people tell the story of where they live for later publication.

The workshops explore the use of maps, photographs, census and other records to research houses and streets, along with a session on dating finds.

Francine Hills from the project said: "We are really excited about this award.

"As a group we have a lot of experience and skills to share and we are looking forwards to helping the people of Bexley find out the historical and archaeological evidence for their houses and streets."

All Our Stories launched earlier this year in support of BBC Two’s The Great British Story, presented by Michael Wood.
