Belmarsh prisoner sets fire to cell

FIREFIGHTERS were called after a prisoner set fire to his cell at Belmarsh Prison in Thamesmead this morning.

Crews from Woolwich and Plumstead managed to stop the blaze from spreading after being called to the category A prison at about 2am.

They were there for about an hour.

Easily done as prison inmates are exempt from the smoking ban, as I think Parliament is too!

you know one of them ones that swears blind he's an innocent sex offender, although he's been proven guilty... sex offenders should rot in jail, not let out on sex offender register and mix with innocent females with children, who have no idea he is on the register! probation should do there job correctly and do proper monitoring of the criminal...

You do like to jump to conclusions, so sad it is never the right one. One assumes that ‘sets fire to his cell’ was a deliberate act, rather than ‘cell catches fire’ so unless he rubbed two inmates together to form a fire I felt it safe to assume he had the means because smoking and associated paraphernalia are not prohibited in the cell. Follow that ok or want it with pictures?

You make a lot of assumptions there son, there's me thinking ( assuming in fact ) you had a bit more common than that.

Lesson learnt, please take note, never assume nuffink me old cocker.

I 'assume' if you were allowed to draw a picture it would be in crayon ....yes ? Have 'they' let you do a raffia basket at all yet ?
