A BEXLEY student has won a competition to promote upcoming changes to the school attendance age.
Year 10 student, Shayne Marples, from Harris Academy Falconwood won £100 Amazon vouchers for winning the competition to design an eye-catching logo with a memorable catchphrase.
The competition was designed to increase the profile of the rise in participation age coming into force next year and was open to students in every school in Bexley.
Students are not forced to remain in school, but consider other options available such as a college course, an apprenticeship or other employment with training.
Cabinet member for education, Councillor John Fuller said: "My congratulations go to Shayne for coming up with this great logo for the Raising Participation Age campaign in Bexley.
This is a major change and it’s important that as many young people, parents and employees as possible are aware as the changes that come into force next year."
