Cray Wanderers saw their Ryman Premier four-game unbeaten run come to an end with a 3-0 home defeat versus Wealdstone.

It was an afternoon of early disasters for the home side.

Cray had to withdraw 'keeper Andy Walker with a muscle strain before the kick-off, with veteran Grant Hall stepping in.

After just two minutes Hall had no chance to stop Richard Jolly finding the net after he slipped through the Cray offside trap.

Worse was to come for the Wands on six minutes when defender Joe Vines was carried off with a suspected broken ankle.

Joe's brother Paul almost equalised for Cray but his header was scrambled away by visiting 'keeper Ricki Banks.

Wealdstone were two up on 16 minutes when Alex Dyer fired home from the edge of the box.

Alex Stavrinou was just wide with a snap shot, and Leigh Bremner was denied by Banks on the goal line as Cray tried to get back in the game.

Bremner's header was just wide on 45 minutes, but Cray were punished on the hour when Jolly made it 3-0.

Cray kept battling throughout a more even end-to-end game than the final score suggests, and Cray will want to bounce back next Sunday 11 November when they entertain local rivals Welling United of the Conference South in the FA Trophy 3rd qualifying round.

Cray set up their cup clash with Welling thanks to an exciting 3-2 win after extra time last Tuesday night at Arlesey Town in the 2nd qualifying round replay.

Cray versus Welling kicks off at 3pm on Sunday at Hayes Lane.
