THIS was the scene in Kingsleigh Walk, Bromley, this morning (November 2) after a rubbish truck crashed into a garage wall.

No-one is believed to have been hurt in the crash which happened at around 7.45am but there has been considerable damage to the garage and a neighbouring garden wall.

A mother-of-two, who lives in nearby Oakham Drive, was woken up by the noise of the accident.

She said: “My husband and I were in shock and we walked out.

“The wall was on the verge of collapsing.

“We said what was the problem and they said the brake failed and the truck rolled back.

“The cars in the garages are all smashed up.

“We were talking with the neighbours and saying how thankfully nobody was personally injured.

“It would have been very serious if there had been a passerby near the truck because it could have killed somebody.”

Household waste in Bromley is collected by Veolia Environmental Services, on behalf of Bromley Council.

It seems quite often that bromleys garbage truck crash into things or just catch fire this has to be at least the 3rd story I have seen in the last year involeing Bromley and also the woman in this story said the lorry must have reversed hard because off the result off damage may just be my eye sight but the photo shows it as the front off the truck in the wall ?

"Quite oftern" We are now in November, so 3 crashs/stories in 10/11 months isnt what I would call quite oftern.

Rolled back into a wall........ but the fronts gone into it. Oh dear seems like the resident mother of two hasn't seen it, but was still good for a quote.

"the brakes failed..." What a load of rubbish! Bromley Council and Veolia should keep in mind that they could be charged for corporate manslaughter if their wreckless drivers kill someone as a result of their poor safety standards.

that wouldnt be oftern then. Your comment should read "Ive done some research and noticed that most of the accidents that Ive come across seem to involve Bromley Council refuse trucks"
