IN THE week a confidential report about staffing at Swanley Town Council was leaked to the press, the chief executive has quit his post.
After 13-years as chief executive and town clerk of the council and Swanley Banqueting, Brian Daley left by mutual consent on Monday (October 29).
Formally, his last day will be on January 6 next year.
News Shopper previously reported how independent consultant Roger Wilkins was called in by Mr Daley to conduct a report on the council’s structure and staffing.
Included in his 14-page report was the recommendation that Mr Daley’s £76,647 per year position should be merged with that of chief financial officer.
According to Swanley Town Council today, Mr Daley did further work based around the findings of the report and after discussions on Monday it was agreed he would leave.
Officers in the council’s leadership group will meet today to discuss the appointment of the next town clerk.
In the mean time, two current officers will act as the responsible officer for the council.
