CHISLEHURST Road bridge rebuilding work has its’ place in art history thanks to an artist’s efforts.
While work has been going on to replace the damaged 1958 structure with a new one Pamela Park has made several visits to the site to capture the action.
The 66-year-old, of Chequers Close, St Paul’s Cray, usually paints wildlife and other natural scenes but thought it was important to document this piece of history.
She said: “It’s good the works will still be remembered through the paintings.
“I did not think that the crane would be moving on a Sunday but it was so I had to be quick.
“I paint animals, birds, buildings – anything that takes my interest.”
The old bridge, across the four line railway between Chislehurst and St Mary Cray stations, was closed on November 7 last year. It is expected to reopen on November 16.
