BROMLEY police’s safer transport team will be holding a bike marking surgery this Saturday (November 3).
The event at Cadence Cycling Centre, Anerley Hill, Crystal Palace, runs from 11.30am to 4.30pm and is free of charge. Marking each bike only takes about five minutes and then it is registered on the bikeregister.com database.
Registering details of bicycles online helps police and retailers identify and check the legitimate owner of bikes and increases the chances of reuniting stolen bikes to their rightful owners.
The team will also be registering mobile phones on the immobilise.com database free of charge.
Anyone can turn up on the day and there is no need to book an appointment.
The marking is not suitable for children's bikes (under eleven years) but children’s bikes can be registered on the bikeregister.com database.
