OFFICERS have arrested four men in connection with an attempted armed robbery at the Harvester in Gravesend.

Kent Police was called to the restaurant in Rochester Road at just after 9am on Monday (October 22) after staff reported being confronted by two men wearing balaclavas.

One of the men threatened staff with an object that has been described as a gun and ordered that a safe was opened.

The two men left empty-handed.

A 20-year-old from Gravesend, a 17-year-old from Gravesend and an 18-year-old from Northfleet have all been arrested on suspicion of robbery and bailed until December 12.

A 50-year-old man from Gravesend has also been arrested on suspicion of robbery and bailed until November 16.
