Rabbits Floppy and Rygel have become two indirect victims of the country’s economic situation.

When the firm their owner works for had to downsize and relocate out of London, he had to move too and was unable to take his pets with him.

Julie Baxter, who is now caring for them on behalf of Anim-Mates animal rescue charity, said; “He had looked after Floppy and Rygel very well and was upset at having to part with them.

"They are handsome two-year-old boy rabbits who have very sweet natures. As they are very fond of each other, we want to find them a new home where they can be kept together. They will need a large hutch and run as they are two very inquisitive and lively rabbits.

“Although they are two males together we have had them neutered, so should they ever come into contact with a female rabbit they cannot add to the large number of unwanted rabbits needing homes."

Floppy and Rygel are being fostered in Catford. If you could offer them a new home, please call Julie on 07958 031884.

Anim-Mates is an animal rescue group serving south-east London run entirely by volunteers.

All the animals are cared for in the homes of foster carers who treat them as their own pets until they are re-homed.

All new homes are vetted.
