A BELVEDERE woman has scooped a national award for her services to slimming club members and helping them achieve their weight loss goals.

Kim Carpenter received the Jean Nidetch award from Weight Watchers UK senior vice president, Andrew Knight, at a Weight Watchers conference.

The award, named after the woman who founded Weight Watchers in New York almost 50 years ago, is only given out once every two years to the four most outstanding Weight Watchers Leaders in the UK.

Kim, who has been a leader for eight years and runs four Weight Watchers meetings in Welling and Bexleyheath, also received a Diamond Leader award at the event for services to her members.

Weight Watchers regional manager, Dan Marlow, said: "Kim plays a central role in motivating all those people around her to be the very best that they can be.

"She makes everyone around her feel unbelievably special and plays a pivotal role in ensuring a healthier future for Bexley residents.

"She is a very deserving recipient of the Jean Nidetch award."

Kim’s area manager, Ruth Hardy, said: "Kim’s passion for her members’ success, coupled with her great sense of humour, helps keep her meetings vibrant on every level. She’s an absolute inspiration to us all."
