A DECISION will be deferred on the Blackheath Huntsman housing project opposed by hundreds of people living nearby.
The Huntsman development would build 144 homes on an old sports ground, but plans to use Manor Way on the neighbouring private Cator Estate as the junction for an access road caused an outcry from people living there.
Greenwich Council's planning committee had been expected to turn down the project tonight (Oct 25) because of the size and position of one block.
Now a decision has been delayed while the application, objected to by 385 people, is redrawn.
The news came as banners placed at the site for a 200-person protest mysteriously vanished overnight last week.
John Bendall, 72, of Manor Way, said: "We will be back and we will not be moved."
