Dartford Council launches Back to Netball course for women
10:32am Thursday 25th October 2012 in News By Kelly Smale
DARTFORD women looking to rekindle their love for netball are invited to get back into the game.
In partnership with Kent Sport, Dartford Council has teamed up with the All England Netball Association to provide a seven week Back to Netball course for women aged 16 to 24.
Each session costs £1.50 and will be held every Monday from 6pm to 7pm at Dartford Technology College Sports Hall, in Heath Lane, from November 5.
Portfolio holder for leisure, Councillor Andy Lloyd, said: "The early development of netball started in Dartford at Bergman Österberg Physical Training College (now North West Kent College) in Oakfield Lane during the late 1890’s.
"By starting a Back to Netball course in Dartford we are bringing back a piece of history to the borough and hopefully inspiring women to get back into a sport they may not have played since school."
