A MAN remains in a coma with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in the chest outside a shop in New Cross Road a fortnight ago.

The 21-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds to his body in an attack which is being treated as attempted murder and has prompted a police appeal for witnesses.

London ambulance staff were called at 9.40pm on October 12 and the victim is currently in a south London hospital where he is said to be in a critical but stable condition.

Two men and two youths were arrested with three bailed and no further action being taken against a fourth.

Detective Constable Abraham Pino, of Lewisham CID, said: This is being treated as attempted murder, the victim received life threatening injuries and remains in a coma.

“We are still trying to piece together what happened and need the help of the public in this matter. “This was a violent and vicious attack and we urge people to come forward to assist us with our enquiries."
