Celebrations in Sydenham on winning a government funding bid
SYDENHAM, Kirkdale and Forest Hill need a visionary to revamp the high streets after a successful Portas Pilot cash bid.
Residents celebrated after winning the government funding to improve local shopping areas in July this year.
Now a leader is needed to capitalise on the funds and transform the high streets into community hubs.
Projects to boost the communities include two shops – Jack and Jill which will be in Sydenham and Forest Hill – serving as a space for local exhibitions, products, business workshops and pop-up events.
Short-term leases will also open up in currently empty units to give new businesses the chance to test out their skills.
The deadline for the paid position of Town Team Manager for the areas is November 12.
