TIME IS running out for readers to get behind News Shoppers Operation Shoebox campaign.
Since launching two weeks ago, shoeboxes have arrived thick and fast at the Shopper offices in Petts Wood and the pile of boxes ready to be sent across the globe is building.
But readers are still urged to brighten Christmas morning for peace-keeping British soldiers by filling an empty shoebox with goodies and treats.
Magazines, jelly sweets, toothbrushes, chewing gum and tins of fruit juice are among the recommended items.
Operation Shoebox south east regional director Ellie Doyle said: “Receiving a shoebox shows somebody back home cares about them.
“The main thing is for the guys to know members of the public are thinking about them at Christmas - it lifts their spirits up enormously.”
A £2 coin should be attached to the shoebox lid to contribute towards shipping while chocolate, alcohol and aerosols are banned.
Deliver your completed shoeboxes before November 2 to: News Shopper, Mega House, Crest View Drive, Petts Wood, Bromley, BR5 1BT
