A FIVE-VEHICLE road accident on Shooters Hill has been cleared and two people have been taken to hospital.

Emergency services were called out at 2.37pm to the road, near Woodlands Farm.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We sent two ambulance crews and a single responder in a car to the scene.

"Our staff treated two patients for minor injuries and took them to Queen Elizabeth Hospital."

Traffic was queuing both ways due to the eastbound accident, which had partially blocked the road.

A spokeswoman for Greenwich police said the number of cars meant it had taken longer than usual to clear the scene
