The man is believed to have run off towards New Cross Street after the theft which took place around 6am.
A man was caught on CCTV and British Transport Police (BTP) would like to speak to him in connection with the incident.

“We’re making local enquiries into the incident and also want to hear from anyone who was at the station at the time and can assist our investigation.
“If you recognise this man and think you can tell us who he is, we want to hear from you.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40 quoting background reference B7/LSA of 19/10/2012.
