NEARLY half a million Greenwich burial and cremation records are now searchable on the internet thanks to the Deceased Online organisation.
Greenwich Council has teamed up with the website to upload digital scans of burial and cremation registers along with computerised records of burials and cremations.
Details of those buried in each grave, cemetery maps indicating the area for each grave location and some photographs of memorials and headstones are also available.
Records for the borough's five cemeteries all feature on the site, which can be searched for free.
Those without the internet at home can try it out at their local library or the Woolwich Centre
You can also book an appointment to search the physical records by calling 020 8921 6885.
