BELVEDERE households who experience flooding are being encouraged to report the problem to Bexley Council and Thames Water.
An Environment and Leisure Overview and Scrutiny Committee was held last Thursday (October 18) at the Civic Centre following a number of incidents in Sutherland Road and Waterfield Close.
Members of Thames Water attended the meeting to answer questions from councillors and the public.
It was revealed that the water company, in partnership with the council, had sent out a survey to 80 properties in the area but only had eight returned.
The results will be used to put together a report about what is causing the problems.
Thames Water claims a land drain in the area is not their asset and responsibility is set to be transferred to the council once a condition survey has been carried out on the pipe by the water company.
To report flooding, visit bexley.gov.uk or call Thames Water on 0845 9200 800.
