TRAFFIC is at a standstill on the outskirts of Orpington this morning (October 23) as police carry out insurance checks.
Long queues have built up near the Nugent Centre in Cray Avenue while officers check drivers’ details.
It is not yet known how long the Bromley police will be running the operation, which is causing tailbacks to the A20.
One of the drivers’ stuck in the jams this morning was News Shopper editor Andy Parkes.
He said: “I appreciate the boys in blue need to keep themselves busy with cuts to the Met police looming but they should not do it by disrupting people’s journeys into work."
