Sword man arrested

A MAN has been arrested following a disturbance at an Erith tower block this morning.

Six police cars and a team of paramedics raced to Orchard House in Northend Road, just before 10 am and found a man, armed with a sword, trying to self-harm.

Bexley police say a 23-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of affray and he is currently in custody at Bexleyheath police station.

Good old Erith!

I wonder where our new blogger, Howard Dawber, was when all this was going on?

You can read about Mr Dawber's crusade against crime in the Your Shopper section.

So far, Mr Dawber has been successful in dishing out some justice to a 12-year-old in Slade Green who dared to throw an empty crisp packet to the pavement.

Your Lord has challenged Mr Dawber to take a lone trip to Erith after dark and film himself as he encounters the gangs and social miscreants that frequent it.

Let us hope the gangs do not turn the tables and end up filming Mr Dawber (who goes under the pseudonym of The Red Tie) as they happily slap him for his efforts.

Lord likes to feel he is important in some way, yet his actual impact on the world we live in is very small. At least Mr Dawber is trying to make a difference as he feels strongly enough to stand up for what he believes.

I would challange Mr Dawber to sort out a very well known Estate in Erith which is one of many that is used a a local dumping ground and has high problems with youths that DON'T want to work or go to college but like to loom all day in the hope of nicking something of someone who has worked hard to buy it.
I wonder if anyone can guess which one it is. Living their is hell apart from the family's which cause the trouble, which all blame it on others and even get away with it.

I applaud having a black president if he is the right man for the job, I do not agree if he is not. I have wondered how popular Barrack Obama would be if he was running as the Republican replacement for President Bush, would the colour of his skin sway voters to vote Republican that may not of previously?
However I am more interested in the country I reside rather than the USA so I can not really comment on the merits of both candidates.

Locked and Loaded the word probably leaves some doubt and for that reason I would like to retort by saying you probably do not pay more tax than I earn but if it makes you sleep better thinking that then go ahead.

America the Land of the Free indeed, for a mere $700 billion you can almost buy the whole of the banking system over there. With the amount of money your earn Locked and Loaded and your love of the country I am surprised you did not offer to bail out Lehman Brothers.

How a country that charges on a case by case basis for its health service be consider the land of the free is beyond me, everyone knows if you have money in the USA life is good, if you do not it is little more than a third world country.

Labourite, don't believe all the crap you read about health service out here. Yes there are problems, can you say there aren't with your health service over there. You say if you have money life is good, I would say if you work life is great. Work is rewarded, sit around on ya fat lazy as s and ya get nothing. Sound fine to me. As for bail outs, I wouldn't give any 'bank' etc anything. I'm all for free markets, thats what capitalism is about. Whatever I have, I "EARNED" it the hard way, by "WORKING" hard, and its well looked after now. Try it yourself you may find it works for you like it did for me.

Well you stated previously you are a colleague of TRM. When he used to be more active in the blogs there was often disagreements between myself and other members of the blog regarding the role investment bankers play in the economy. I would have hoped had TRM been an investment banker he would have pitched in and defended the professional that has been good to us.
The reason I put the LIFFE floor comment would be evident if you had worked in the City for the past 15 years.
Certainly no offence meant by my guess work!
