A GEORGIAN vicarage has been damaged by a fire in the building.
Residents, who live in the property which has been converted into flats, phoned 999 after hearing the smoke alarm on the ground floor at around 6.10pm yesterday (September 8).
Fire crews from Plumstead and East Greenwich wore breathing apparatus to search the ground floor flat in Vicarage Park, Plumstead, but no-one was found inside.
They managed to save most of the home and stopped the flames from spreading to other homes in the four storey building.
It took the crews around 40 minutes to deal with the fire and the cause is now under investigation.
