TWO people were injured and had to be taken to hospital after a car crashed into a lamp post in Woolwich.

Emergency services - which included a medical team and a doctor - were called to Artillary Place at 8pm yesterday (September 4) where a man was trapped inside the car.

The 30-year-old man was taken to Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, as a priority, where he was treated for injuries to head, pelvis and arm.

A woman who was also injured in the crash managed to escape from the car before the fire service arrived.

She was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a second ambulance.

i happen to know the people involved in this accident, and know that the driver of the vehicle was a careful driver,it could have been a fault with the car,but people are ready to blame and judge people that they dont even know, lets hope that these people never have one of their own in an accident,,,

If driver's in this country are found to be responsible for any of the crash'es they cause they should be made to pay for the cost from the emergency service's to the clean up and repair to other people's property, this may be a deterrant?

& if u read wot other people have wrote bout the lampost jumped out in front of him den you would understand y im sooo angry!
but if u think they never ment it how im taking it then u tell me wot they did mean wen they sed that.

To be honest i think that the story should have been set straight by the news shopper that the guy had died before anyone made any comments, so i think its the news shopper to blame for people making nasty comment by the way the story was worded!!

To all who are posting comments,no one really knows what happened that eve other than the two who were in the car,and i dosnt really matter, cos all we do know is that there are some of us who have lost a very good friend or loved one,and that we should spare a thought for his family and girlfriend and let them know that we support them in this very sad and sressful time !!!

to everyone who's got they're own perception of whats happened please stop and think before you comment on this article, he has a girlfriend, son and family that are going through a terrible loss at the moment, like brian says many of us have lost a really good friend and we need to be remembering him as he was not as a manic driver, drunk driver drug taker as many people have assumed, he was none of these, he was one of the most sensible drivers i knew, i'm sure its just a plain and simple accident. also try to understand how sam is feeling as its her uncle she's lost, not just some random of the street so making digs about her lack of spelling is not helping. please please stop with the silly comments please and spare a thought for someone who will be truly missed.

Firstly to all the people who have put thoughtful comments on this page and to those who have defended Brian. Regardless of what any thinks happened or didnt or whos to blame it irrevelant. I am the only person who knows wot happened that night i lost someone who touched the hearts of many people in life and death he left many friends and family behind also myself but most of all a 14 year old son who idolised him and is broken. i won't explain wot happened as i don't need to justify the accident as it was nobodys fault so please if you have nothing nice to say take your shallow comments somewhere else
